I went to Cedar Point the Sunday of Labor Day weekend and waited in a very long line to get in with long lines for many of the rides as well, but that was nothing compared to what happened this past weekend. Supposedly this was the first time in the park's history that guests had to be turned away on Saturday afternoon. One man was apparently hit by a truck on the causeway after he got out of his vehicle that was in the traffic backup to relieve himself. Guests were encouraged to come back the next day or next weekend. The park claims the huge crowd was because of the end of the season and the nice weather. Others claim it is the special Gold Pass deal the park started offering recently for this Fall and next year in honor of its 150th anniversary.
