The Toledo Walleye will be without head coach Dan Watson on the bench tonight as the Wheeling Nailers come to the Huntington Center to take on the Toledo Walleye. Watson was suspended by the ECHL for one game following an incident Wednesday night in Kalamazoo which involved a water bottle being thrown. The game misconduct was called for abuse on an official.
This reminded me of a game I was at back in 2012 when Nick Vitucci was the Toledo Walleye head coach and went ballistic at the referees in a game, coincidentally, against the Wheeling Nailers. As you will see in the video below, Vitucci threw multiple water bottles, clipboards, hockey sticks, etc. across the ice as the fans cheered him on. Watson was an assistant coach at the time. Vitucci also was handed a one game suspension by the ECHL.
Man I enjoy hockey!
