My son was supposed to have an indoor track meet down in Bowling Green at BGSU this past Saturday, but that, like just about everything else, was canceled. You are probably thinking...now wait a minute. Bowling Green is in Wood County and they were the only county in NW Ohio not to issue a snow emergency. My feelings on that are, well yes, snow emergencies are kind of dumb since most people can tell if travel is dangerous, but I think it makes things even more confusing when they the criteria for issuing them is not used consistently from county to county. Maybe the roads were just fine in Wood County on Saturday, but the road conditions in Lucas and Ottawa counties weren't super great.
Apparently there was a situation that required my son's presence at his mother's house over in Vermillion, Ohio on Saturday that could not wait since his meet was cancelled. So, against my better judgement, I made the trek across Lucas and Ottawa counties to meet her.
You can take an abbreviated ride with me in the video below. No I was not going quite that fast. And unfortunately my camera was not working when the nice gentleman who cut me off after going straight from the right turn lane flipped me off multiple times. This perplexed me as to how this person's mind must function, but that is another story.
