It is no secret I grew up as a Browns fan living in the suburbs of Cleveland during the Kardiak Kids era with Brian Sipe at quarterback and then transitioning into the Bernie Kosar era. Other than a few flickers of mediocrity over the years since 1999 when the Browns 'returned' to Cleveland after the infamous Art Modell move to Baltimore after the 1995 season, there hasn't been much to get excited about as a Browns fan. I almost feel we should be wearing brown paper bags over our heads and felt much like the Factory of Sadness guy in the second video below.
But now there is a sliver of hope for the playoffs for the first time in years and the future doesn't seem so bleak for the team that plays on the banks of Lake Erie. It seems that even with the Browns current record, there is a chance they could still make the playoffs, and maybe even win the division, if they win their final three games and a LOT of other things happen that are out of their control. I know it seems like a lot to get excited about with the chances being low, but the fact that it is mid December and there is that chance is huge after coming off a winless season last year and only one win the year before.
Come on Santa! Bring us a Christmas miracle and let's see the Browns make the playoffs. No need to be greedy and ask for winning the Super Bowl...this year. Just making the playoffs would be worthy of a parade alone. Unlike last year's perfect season parade (0-16).
The playoff push of the final three games of the regular season starts Saturday night in Denver.
And hopefully we may finally be done with this....
