So there is a classic episode of SpongeBob SquarePants in which he performs the epic power ballad 'Sweet Victory' during half time of the Bubble Bowl. The song is originally performed by David Glen Eisley. Since SpongeBob creator Stephen Hillenburg passed away a couple weeks ago from ALS. So now there is an online petition to have 'Sweet Victory' sung during halftime of the Super Bowl in memory of Hillenburg. At the time of of this post, the petition has nearly 1 million signatures.
I am not sure if anyone will really look at this petition or take it seriously, but it would be kind of nice to have a decent halftime performance for a change...even if it is a cheesy 80's power ballad lip synced by a sponge with a giant starfish with pit stains playing drums. Now that I think about it, this would actually be pretty damn awesome!
