For many years, I co-announced the Fulton County Fair's grand finale event, the annual demolition derby. The folks at Oakshade Raceway used to run the event and I tagged along from 2000-2008. I was just fine with doing it as they were CAR demolition derbies and I was familiar with those vehicles. Another group took over the car demolition derby after 2008 and other than visiting the fair a couple times, I hadn't been out there to work. That was until 2016 when I was asked to help announce the combine demolition derby. I reluctantly agreed. I know nothing about combines and the whole idea seemed kinda boring to me. I figured combines were pretty slow...how exciting could it really be. Well, they definitely aren't the fastest vehicles, but man those things were big. I had an interesting time to say the least. I don't think the combine demolition derby has been on the schedule since 2016 at the Fulton County Fair and it isn't happening this year either. So enjoy this video from a couple years ago of farm equipment getting trashed and then get out to the fair and enjoy at least the famous milk shakes.
