Car Owner Watches As Dog Tears Into Car

So the owner of this white car wants the police officer to shoot the dog so that it stops tearing up her car. The officer refuses since the dog is not posing an imminent threat to any people. What would you do in this situation. I am pretty sure I would run after the dog like a crazy m-fer and if the dog didn't start running the opposite direction, I would drop kick the son of a bitch.
