So, the drive home last evening was eventful. The usual 15-20 trek turned into an hour and 15 minute ordeal. Apparently an accident had I-471 WB shut down at Monroe Street causing a major back up and impatient drivers.
Unfortunately, my dashcam only caught a small part of most of the action that was going on beside me as a minivan driver decided he was in a big hurry and deserved to get to his destination before everyone else and attempted to pass a trucker on the left shoulder. I swear he hit the wall with the right side of the minivan. Somehow he squeezed in front of the truck and then stopped with the semi only an inch or two away. I thought there was going to be an altercation at this point, but then the minivan driver tore off and then slammed on his brakes and through it in reverse back toward the truck. At this point I was a bit concerned for my own vehicle by the unpredictable actions of this jack hole. Seeing what was going on, the trucker in front of me tried to block this guy in, but he squeezed out in front of me. Had I been in my old beater truck, I may have attempted to help keep him boxed in.
I guess I just don't understand people like this. Maybe they were high on something. Either way, those cops hiding up near the bridges shooting laser speed guns from behind to "make the roads safer" doesn't seem to be working in this case.
