R.I.P. Trans-Siberian Orchestra Founder Paul O'Neill

Before Paul O'Neill formed the Trans-Siberian Orchestra for which he is probably best known, he was a promoter, writer and producer and produced many Savatage albums. After some early struggles for the band, O'Neill came on board for the Hall of the Mountain King album which was the first commercially successful album for Savatage. You can here O'Neill's influence in some of the songs below and in 1996 after Christmas Eve Sarajevo 12/24 which was originally on Savatage's Dead Winter Dead album, Trans-Siberian Orchestra was formed.

According to the TSO website, O'Neill passed away yesterday after losing a battle with a chronic illness. He was 61.
