I heard of the passing of Richard Hatch who was mostly known for his role on the original Battlestar Galactica (BSG) as Apollo. I remember reading about him around the time when Sci-Fi decided to re-imagine the Battlestar Galactica series. Hatch initially was against it because he had been trying to get the series going again on his own. Eventually he changed his tune and accepted the new BSG series and played a role in it as Tom Zarek.
It may be my inner nerd coming out, but the re-imagined BSG series was one of the best television programs It was extremely dark and gritty and Edward James Olmos was incredible. If you never seen it, I highly suggest you do. It was in its essence, a military drama.
Richard Hatch was 71 when he lost his battle with pancreatic cancer.
