Via billboard.com. With Pfizer dangling the long awaited news on Monday that a coronavirus vaccine might be coming soon, plans are being made to get us back to something we sorely missed in 2020, CONCERTS!
Ticketmaster is working on a technology to help venues check concertgoers for vaccines, or a negative virus test, before you can go to your seats in 2021. They would work with a company like CLEAR Health Pass or IBM's Digital Health Pass so you would have that info at your fingertips on your phone.
How this would work is, after buying a ticket for a concert, you would need to verify that you have already been vaccinated (which would provide approximately one year of COVID-19 protection) or test negative for coronavirus approximately 24 to 72 hours prior to the concert.
Ticketmaster President Mark Yovich says, "We’re already seeing many third-party health care providers prepare to handle the vetting -- whether that is getting a vaccine, taking a test, or other methods of review and approval - which could then be linked via a digital ticket so everyone entering the event is verified."
I know...it's another thing to deal with, but if it gets us back in the shows, would you do it?
