The assault charges against TOOL drummer Danny Carey have been dropped by the Kansas City Prosecutors, according to reports.

FOX4 New Kansas City reported that no reason was given for the dismissal of the charges, with the court stating that it was a confidential matter.

Carey was arrested in December 2021 and charged with misdemeanor assault after an alleged altercation with a security officer at Kansas City International Airport.

Video of Carey's arrest that was shared by TMZ showed the legendary drummer urging a bystander to "videotape all of this," then getting handcuffed by police outside the terminal. Officers pushed Carey against a glass wall, with one ordering him to "quit resisting now."

Carey was booked for misdemeanor assault and released on bond. Neither he nor Tool has commented publicly on the incident.

A day before his arrest, Carey was in his hometown of Lawrence, Kansas, sitting in with the University of Kansas band for a Jayhawks basketball game.
