Dust off your sneakers AND your Smartphones – the Toledo Humane Society’s 35th Annual Bark in the Park is going VIRTUAL!
At this time, with the most updated information from the Department of Health and for the safety of our supporters and sponsors, the Toledo Humane Society has made the decision to officially shift our event to a VIRTUAL walk and run for the animals! As we are a nonprofit organization that receives no government funding, the Toledo Humane Society hosts fundraisers such as Bark in the Park to raise the life-saving funds needed to support the thousands of animals coming into our building every year – and this year is no different!
Although this may not be the intended avenue for our 35th Annual Bark in the Park, we strongly believe that our Bark in the Park Virtual Edition will incorporate a new world of online fundraising! Fundraise by yourself or with a group of friends to win some PAWESOME prizes and help the Toledo Humane Society reach our goal of raising $95,000 for the animals!
With our now-virtual 1-mile leisure walk, 5K run, and 10K run, you are able to join the fun at any time! Register for our virtual walk and run at https://www.toledohumane.org/bark-in-the-park-2/ and walk, jog, or run on your own time throughout the month of August. Choose your favorite spot in Northwest Ohio to run or walk – 5K and 10K runners will be able to record their official race times on our virtual race platform.
Tune into our social media on Saturday, August 22nd as we virtually feature some of our yearly Bark in the Park events and games such as “The Great Peanut Butter Lick-Off” and “Best Tail Wag,” along with sponsor features and MORE! Join the fun online from 9:00 A.M to 12:00 P.M. at https://www.facebook.com/ToledoHumane/ – and connect with other animal lovers in our community online!
The running and walking festivities may not be happening in person, but we’re still excited to celebrate our supporters’ achievements and fundraising! On Saturday, August 22nd, in lieu of our originally rescheduled Bark in the Park, we are planning to host a socially distant “Bark in the Park-ing Lot Party” at our main location in Maumee from 12:00 P.M to 3:00 P.M! All Bark in the Park participants will have the opportunity to come to the Toledo Humane Society, pick up their fundraising prizes and running medals, grab a bite to eat from a variety of food trucks, and more! Stay tuned for more information at a later date!
Registration for our virtual walk and run are now open! Visit our Bark in the Park: Virtual Edition page here: https://www.toledohumane.org/bark-in-the-park-2/. Start fundraising to earn some PAWESOME prizes and support the THOUSANDS of animals that come to the Toledo Humane Society every year!
The Toledo Humane Society is extremely grateful for the community’s flexibility and support during this trying time, and is looking forward to “seeing” you at our Bark in the Park – Virtual Edition!
