Saturday briefing from Toledo and Governor DeWine

The Saturday afternoon updates from the both the city and state include much new information which you'll find here. The city of Toledo is no longer doing in person press conferences so the press release information is below.

There will be no in-person briefing today. As previously advised, the briefings are tentatively scheduled for 4 p.m. daily. The COVID-19 numbers for Lucas County for today, March 28, are as follows: 

75 total cases 

2 deaths 

32 male cases  43 female cases 

The ages range from 22 to 96

Parks and open spaces are safe with social distancing. All playgrounds are closed and should not be used.

Governor DeWine at his Saturday presser announced Ohio totals of those diagnosed with COVID-19 reached 1,406 Saturday, up from 1,137. The patients have a median age of 52 years old. The number of deaths rose from 19 to 25.

In addition, DeWine and State Health Director Dr. Amy, during their normal 2 p.m. briefing at the Ohio Statehouse, asked for people to donate unused personal protective gear they may have so that health-care workers can use them.

They need surgical gowns, masks, gloves, N95 respirators, face shields, thermometers, Tyvek coveralls, foot coverings and ventilator tubing. Those who have supplies are asked to emailtogether@governor.ohio.gov.
