Wintry Mix Expected To Hit Area Friday Night-Saturday Morning

Following what should be a cool, dry Friday Northwest Ohio will be bracing for a wintry mix of snow, ice, and sleet. Current forecasts from our media partner Toledo 11 are calling for a steady snow to move into the area after 8p Friday night. By midnight it's expected that heavy, wet snow will blanket the listening area with Lucas county and Southeast Michigan seeing anywhere from 2-5 inches.

Overnight temperatures will remain in the mid 20s causing snow to accumulate rapidly until 8a Saturday morning.. By Saturday morning warm air will begin funneling into the area creating the wintry mix of snow and rain.

Counties south of Lucas will warm up more quickly and see less snow accumulation while the Michigan counties will see a few more hours of snowfall. Some of the snow cover will melt during the daylight hours when temperatures rise to the upper 30s.

Saturday evening brings colder air which could cause re-freezing and patches of black ice.
