Layne Staley definitely was gone too soon. He was the growling vocals behind Alice in Chains, and Mad Season. He could be edgy or he could sing soft and beautifully. Unfortunately like so many others from the era, Layne had a lot of demons. Mainly heroin. Heroin has been the demise of so many beloved musicians, actors, friends and family members. It's pure evil. Sadly Layne succumb to his addiction in 2002. Layne was much more than just an addict. He was charming, boyish, talented, funny, and almost shy. Gone too soon for sure. A documentary called "Man In the Box" will be out in September of 2020. Check out the trailer. I'm excited to see a different side of Layne.
