Supermodel Paulina Porizkova is mourning the death of her ex-husband Ric Ocasek.

Ocasek was found dead Sunday afternoon at his New York City home. By Monday, fans had begun to flock to the East 19th Street townhouse, leaving tributes to the late-Cars front man and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer.

Porizkova, 54, replied via Instagram, writing "Thank you" in the caption of a photo depicting flowers and toy cars arranged at the front gate of the house.

The model reportedly called police after discovering Ocasek unresponsive at the home at around 4 p.m. Sunday. The singer and songwriter was pronounced dead at the scene, though his cause of death has not been specified.

Ocasek and Porizkova met on the set of The Cars' music video for their song "Drive" in 1984. The couple began dating and married in 1988. They had two sons together before breaking up in 2018 after being "peacefully separated" for a year.

Ocasek released eight studio albums with The Cars and seven as a solo artist. One of the leaders of music's new wave movement in the late-'70s, The Cars broke out in 1978 with a string of massive hits from their debut album. By the time the band broke up in 1988, it had landed 13 hits in the Top 40 in its career.

There are conflicting records regarding Ocasek's age. Many publications through the years have indicated the music legend was born in 1949, but officials said Sunday that Ocasek was actually 75 years old when he died.
