The world fell in love. Also everyone in the world named their kid Dylan. Luke Perry didn't seem to take himself too seriously. He was okay poking fun at his persona. Remember when he was on The Simpsons? He played Krusty's half brother Sideshow Luke Perry. Like him or don't care, you still have to admit that it sucks that he lost his life so soon.
