Northwood to Change Zoning to Stop Zepf Center

(Northwood, OH) Northwood may change its zoning rules before a drug treatment center can even be proposed.

Northwood city leaders recently learned the Zepf Cente recently bought an acre of land in the city limits, but now the city's plan commission is urging city council to change the zoning code to keep a mental health and drug treatment facility from ever being built on the Curtice Road property.

The site known as "Pumpkin Hill" is zoned rural residential right now-- but city leaders may add an exclusion to its residential zoning code to keep out a possible recovery house.

Northwood leaders openly consider the Zepf Center as a business, not a residence. So far, the nonprofit has not filed a site plan or other paperwork with Northwood officials.
