UAW, Jeep Workers Plan Auto Show Protest

(Toledo, OH)  Toledo Jeep workers will take their fight to save jobs to Fiat Chrysler's doorstep.

UAW Local 12 members plan to protest this weekend outside the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

The union is going to try to call attention to Fiat Chrysler's plan to shut down a parts distribution facility in Toledo, which will affect nearly 90 workers. The union says the move is being made without their consent.

Fiat Chrysler counters it's more efficient to use Detroit-based truck drivers as private contractors.

UAW Local 12 President Bruce Baumhower tells the "Detroit Free Press" they could have up to 250 workers at Sunday's demonstration. The auto show opens to the public on Saturday.
