Turnpike Honors Workers, Troopers Killed On Duty

(Berea, OH)   New memorial signs along the Ohio Turnpike will honor state troopers and construction workers killed in the line of duty.

Signs displaying the names of those killed on the toll road will accompany signs reminding drivers of Ohio's Move Over Law.

The markers include memorials for State Trooper Jon Birchum, who was struck and killed along the turnpike in Rossford in 1967 and Trooper Robert Perez, who was struck and killed while writing a ticket in Erie County in 2000.
