Sykes, Activist Want to Settle Differences

(Toledo, OH) A pair of Democrats involved in a dust-up late last week now appear willing to forgive and forget the incident.

According to a statement from a local law firm, Toledo city councilman Larry Sykes and Black Lives Matter activist Julian Mack are both expressing regrets over the incident and claim "many facts surrounding this matter have been misunderstood."

Sykes is facing an assault charge from the episode outside a downtown Toledo bar that featured a political talent show. But the statement says neither man wants to proceed in court.

Sykes is up for re-election to an at-large city council seat.
