As the father of two daughters I totally get this.
Inevitably my young princesses have grown up and we've been through the first date thing. As a father, you can't control the influences and upbringing of potential suitors.
When my eldest daughter started the dating ritual, one young man made the mistake of pulling into the driveway and honking. Mistake #1. He did not last long enough to make a second one.
Then there's my other daughter. A young man requested to take her to his homecoming and brought me a t-bone steak as a gift offering. Word must have got out about honking boy because the steak bearing suitor is still around today.
