Anti-Hate Rally at University of Toledo on Sunday

(Toledo, OH) There’s a peaceful protest planned this weekend on the University of Toledo campus.

Students won’t be there for fall classes yet, but organizers are hoping the public will show up on the Centennial Mall Sunday evening from 7 to 9 p.m for what's being dubbed the "Toledo Stands with V-A" rally. The protest is a direct response to the Virginia violence at a rally last weekend.

In a Facebook post, organizers hope people of all races, colors, and creeds unite to “show the rest of American that James Alex Fields Junior doesn’t represent the region.” He’s the recent Maumee resident accused of driving his car into the Virginia protest, killing one woman and wounding nearly 20 others.
