West Nile Virus Found In Toledo Area Mosquitos

Mosquitoes captured in the Ottawa Hills area have tested positive for West Nile Virus, according to the Toledo Area Sanitary District. Toledo News Now reports the mosquitoes were trapped on July 10th. The District says it sprayed the area in response and saw a drastic drop in the number of mosquitoes captured in the area afterwards. 

According to the Mayo Clinic, most people infected with West Nile virus never develop any symptoms. About 20 % of those infected develop West Nile fever, which has many symptoms similar to influenza. Those symptoms includes a fever, headache, fatigue, and body aches.
